PROS
- Fuel Injection (PGM-FI): Major 2008 upgrade; replaces carbs for better fuel efficiency and effortless cold starts.
- Modern RR Engine: Inherits the 2007 CBR600RR motor, retuned for smoother, beginner-friendly midrange torque.
- Aluminum Frame: Switched from steel to a lighter cast-aluminum chassis for improved rigidity and sharper handling.
- New Instrument Cluster: Finally includes a fuel gauge, along with indicators for the EFI and HISS security system.
CONS
- "Safe" Personality: Often called the "accountant's bike" because it prioritizes practicality and ease over excitement.
-
- Intrusive Vibrations: High-frequency buzzing can be felt through the bars and pegs at highway speeds (above 7,000 RPM).
-
- Soft Front End: While now preload-adjustable, the 41mm forks still dive significantly under hard braking.
-
- Heavyweight: Despite the new frame, it remains heavy for a naked 600 (213kg wet), which is noticeable when walking the bike.
