PROS
- Detuned Hornet Engine: Uses a 599cc inline-four with 34mm carburetors; it swaps top-end speed for a very smooth, easy-to-manage midrange.
- Highly Adjustable: Introduced the "Just Fit" concept with a 3-position seat (770mm–800mm) and adjustable handlebar mounts.
- Neutral Handling: Extremely forgiving and stable, making it one of the best "first big bikes" ever produced.
- Build Quality: Features the typical Honda "over-engineered" feel with high-quality paint and robust switchgear that resists weathering.
CONS
- Carbureted: Requires a manual choke and is more sensitive to cold weather and long periods of storage than the later EFI models.
-
- No Fuel Gauge: You only have a low-fuel warning light; you must reset your trip meter at every fill-up to track your range.
-
- Soft Suspension: The 41mm forks are non-adjustable and dive significantly under hard braking, emphasizing comfort over sportiness.
-
- Heavy: At 215kg, it is heavy for a middleweight naked, which can make it feel slightly lethargic during quick direction changes.
