PROS

  1. Low Maintenance: Features hydraulic lash adjusters; no valve shims needed.
  2. Slipper Clutch: Includes a back-torque limiter to prevent rear wheel hop.
  3. 6-Speed Box: An extra gear makes for very smooth highway cruising.
  4. Refined Power: The air-cooled 16-valve engine is punchy and reliable.

CONS

  1. 16-Inch Front: The small front wheel makes tire selection very limited.
  2. Alternator Chain: The internal alternator chain is a known high-cost repair.
  3. Complex Carbs: Synchronizing the four Keihin carbs requires expert care.
  4. Front Dive: Even with TRAC, the front forks can feel soft under heavy loads.
