PROS
- Detuned RR Engine: Uses a fuel-injected motor based on the 2007 CBR600RR, retuned for excellent low-end and midrange grunt.
- Highly Adjustable: Features a 3-position seat (770mm–800mm) and a 2-position windscreen to fit riders of all sizes.
- Fuel Injection (PGM-FI): This generation (2008+) replaced carburetors with injection, offering better cold starts and smoother throttle response.
- Aluminum Chassis: Switched to a lighter, stiffer cast-aluminum frame (from steel), significantly improving handling precision.
CONS
- "Boring" Persona: Known as a "sensible" bike; it lacks the aggressive styling and raw speed of its sibling, the Hornet 600.
-
- Manual Moving: While it's nimble once moving, its 222kg (wet) weight makes it a handful to push around in a garage or driveway.
-
- Budget Suspension: The 41mm front forks are basic and can feel soft or "divey" during emergency braking.
-
- Corrosion Risk: Earlier batches of this generation were known for a wiring loom issue near the fuel tank that could corrode if not kept dry.
